    Hi,

    Ariston Margherita 2000 AWD 12 Advantage Washer/Dryer

    The machine is around 6 years old and works OK on the #8 40C program. If i try to use it on, say, the #1 program the machine starts to fill then the power light goes out briefly then flashes 8 times.

    I’ve read a few threads which suggest it could be a number of things including control module, pressure switch, etc, but I’m a little confused by the fact that program #8 works OK?

    I’ve cleaned the filter, checked the pressure switch works by sucking/blowing, the drain hose seems OK in the standpipe.

    Any help would be appreciated. (Great site by the way! 🙂 )

    heater relay on pcb sticking

    requires both pcb AND eprom , possibly a smartcard if the eprom isnt available anymore

    i think program 8 doesnt use the heater, thats why

    gets expensive

    Thanks helo,

    I’m using program 8 with no hot water available for filling (price of gas? 👿 ~) i.e cold fill only. Wouldn’t the heater come in then?

    Just been searching again for “eight flashes” in the light of your reply…does seem to confirm it’s the heater relay.

    Only a cheap machine I know, so probably not worth the engineer’s time? Sounds from other threads the PCB’s crap and probably terminal..but is it worth me seeing if I can “unstick” the relay? Whilst I’m saving up for a new machine of course! 🙁

    If so, how do I get at it?
