Wouldn’t you Adam and Eve it – bought a BWD129 on 30th June 2007 – two days after warranty it fails!!!!
Anyway – not emptying.
Spins and fills – but can’t hear any pump running to drain water.
Can turn the filter cover (bottom righthand corner) anti-clockwise to drain water out but it only turns about 180 degrees and stops – so can’t remove it to look inside. Is there a knack to this or is it designed not to be removed?
I have removed the outlet pipe and can blow down it freely – so that is not blocked.
Any advice please? (Other than get a Bosch!)

Why get a Bosch, if you are going to leave things in your pockets it will cause problems with any machine. Its got nothing at all to do with the fact that it is just over 12 months old. :rolls:
If the filter will not unscrew then you have something jammed in it, coins, bra wires, door keys, nails, screws, almost anything could be in there. If the filter will not unscrew then you will have to remove the pump and filter complete from under the machine to allow you to open up the pump & filter up to clear.
If it is an integrated machine it will have to come out. If you tackle this job yourself then the joy of doing it may make you or whoever is responsible for loading the clothes take a little more care in future. 😉
Be sure to pull the plug if you are going to have a look inside.

We are careful to remove items from pockets!
I have had about 6 washing machines in the last 35 years and I have had my fair share of fixing them – usually motor brushes, belts etc.
With my previous Bosch washer I could unscrew the filter/pump cover and I did find 2 quid once! Result.
It is just that the filter/pump cover on this model seems not to unscrew completly – and I am not sure if it designed like that or a special method of unscrewing it or if something is blocking it. A bit nervous about using to much force to unscrew. The manual does not even mention this cover – and says the machine has a ‘Self-Cleaning filter’.
I will have to remove the machine and take it apart to get to it I suppose. This is the first washer I have not fitted in myself – it is intergrated and was fitted at the same as a new kitchen – so it will be interesting to see what sort of job the ‘professionals’ did!

as iadom has already mentioned, the only reason it will not unscrew is if there is something left in a pocket that is jamming it, any unscrew filter will jam if it gets wedged with foreign objet

we have a bwd129, the filter cover is a right pain to remove best solution is to use a set of grips and keep turning from left to right whist pulling at the same time hope this helps .,
also hope its the last problem you have with the machine {see clicking bwd 129}

…… and at some point youll snap the handle off and leave a hole, or at best break off the rear filter bit, which is integral to the way the machine empties
best way is to unplug it , take the pump off properly, remove rear base of pump, take out foreign object and reassemble
as the two guys have already said, it WILL be something in there, and that certainly isnt the machines fault…
they might be a pile of rubbish, but sometimes, you cant just put it down to that

The filter will only easily remove if the foreign object objects are fully in the filter. If you have an object like a bra wire, it will stay partly in the side entry tube and partly in the filter chamber, it will prevent filter from unscrewing.
Use drain hose into washing up bowl to drain the machine by gravity, then tip it back to access pump and hoses. Power off, of course.

appreciate your comments guys but i have never found any coins, bra wires, or any other foreign objects in the filter or inlet, these covers are just a pain to get off , like the rest of the machine its a piece of c—p ❗

OK., get your pliers out, give the filter a good twist – it’ll break but it will come out. Then order up a replacement pump.

ok i understand you guys are engineers but all im saying is that these covers are a pain to get off , what i should have said is gently twist from left to right whilst pulling

no,. what you should have said is, if the pump is clear then the filter will easily unscrew, there is no problem with removing them at all, no different to many other machines filters, if its stuck its blocked!!,

and i should have also have said that the problems i had getting off the filter off our machine were all made up , and i imagine the constant clicking we get with our machine is spinning is made up as well ❗
time and time again you guys slag off indesit made machines for their faults and i totaly agree, when someone else states their opinian, why try and make out that what they are saying is rubbish.

There is a difference between component failure and user error. I don’t think you’ll find any of the independent engineers who post in these forums are fans of Indesit Company products (or various other budget brands, for that matter). We are sick to death of shoddy electronics, sealed unrepairable tanks, shock absorbers which don’t work, overpriced spares and just plain bad engineering.
However, blockages, by and large, are self-inflicted – you may recall that I took the time to explain to you how to deal with the problem correctly (and quite easily, too). This in itself doesn’t make the appliance cr@p; as part of the overall picture though it doesn’t help the products image. There are different designs of filter which can be removed when an object is partially stuck, there are also far worse ones out there……….
