    Hi,

This seems like a good place to get advice and I’m no repair expert so I hope someone can help.

After the door being left open overnight, I came down the following morning to a brown puddle around my Candy fridge freezer. I thought something had defrosted and leaked but since then the compressor is/was constantly running. I figured this was costing me a fortune in electricity so have since emptied the unit and turned it off.
So was this cooling fluid? Is it easy to fix? Could I do the repair myself?

Given the low cost I paid it might be cheaper to buy a new freezer.

    Thanks in advance

    Missed this.

No, not cooling fluid as there isn’t any.

Easy to fix depends on what the problem actually is. The two top culprits I could think of would be either spillage, which is the most likely or an insulation failure and the water is leaking through the insulation. The only other thing I can think of is condensation but that would likely hark back to an insulation issue.

Without knowing where the water is coming from, which you’ll have to track back, it’s difficult to do much bar have a guess at it.

    K.
