This is breaking news and we really do not have a lot of details as yet on the matter however we have been informed this afternoon that Italian manufacturer Nardi has ceased trading.
Obviously this is pretty much all the information that we have available at this point in time so please don’t ask us for more as, presently we don’t have it and as soon as we do, we will share it.
For those that don’t know about Nardi, they are or were an Italian appliance manufacturer that produced many built in ovens, hobs and cookers particularly under own label brands in the UK. You can find out more about the company in the manufacturer section.
Do not be too shocked however if the company is bought by another as they do have production capability. Or there is probably the possibility of a management buyout or an arrangement of that ilk.
What this means for servicing and especially spare parts is currently not at all clear although we would expect a price hike from some suppliers on the spares, probably with almost immediate effect as they go short supply.
Nardi was never a big brand in the UK under its own steam but there are a number of other brands that had products made for them by Nardi including but not limited to:
- CDA
- Cookers
- Diplomat
- Homark
- Neb
- White Westinghouse
It’s a real shame to see yet another smaller manufacturer fall down.
