ParticipantFitted a new fan motor to this 3 months ago. Customer has rung up to say it’s now cutting out – sorry no more specific details available yet.
This model seems to have a lot of cut out stats listed. Do they malfunction? Or is there some other cause?

ParticipantNot entirely sure, but think there’s a main thermal cut out that looks like a tampon – (near top of machine) if it’s scorched, replace. Alternatively I’ve had the same fault with an intermittent power supply – loose connection on the cooker switch.

Thanks wench. Have booked it in for next Thursday. Now have the further info that cooking at 190 deg is OK, just takes a bit longer, but when temp. is set to 200 or more it cuts out and cuts back in after cooling.

Thanks bendy. Sounds like I’m on a winner here; though not quite sure why, when a toc cuts out, it’s the toc that’s at fault and not something overheating. 😕
Looking for part on Conn and Mpt – can’t find anything fitting description will ring Zanussi agent Monday.

ParticipantWhat can I say? When a machine has 2 or 3 stats and people ask which one you mean – if you say the one that looks like a tampon, they know what you’re on about. 😉

I came across this fault last year on a machine exact same. In my case it was a cut out at that back of the oven on the left side looing at the front of the machine. It has a red spot on it.

Went to this one today. Put a thermocouple in oven and ran it up. Turned out stat is out of calibration by about 30 degrees, so when the dial is set to 240 it goes up to about 270 before the light goes out. The TOC (red spot, just where Micky said it was) didn’t cut out for me, though I had the back off and away from the wall. Am going to order new stat. Didn’t find the tampon so maybe not this model, unless it’s under the hob.
Thanks again guys.

Fitted the new stat and all is well now apparently, though she says the oven seems to run a bit cooler now so sounds like she’d got used to it being too hot.
