    Hello
I did my first ever belt change on this condenser dryer, the only thing is, it took me 2 hours. After getting the belt around the drum, I struggled to get it on the motor shaft, past the front fan, and over the static pulley wheel.

Has any one any suggestions to speed up this repair for the next time. Thanks in advance

Take rear fan off. Undo four motor screws. Roll motor round, fit belt. Use big screwdriver through motor tie bolt to lever it back and refit screws.

Thanks for the quick reply Chris. Now I know that, it seems so obvious. I will remember for next time.

i dont do it like that

i just pull out drum, put belt over motor shaft, put belt in right position, and put the drum back in, makin sure the belt goes over tension pulley

    less than 10 mins

Take drum bearing off, feed belt around drum, take front fan off, feed belt around it, take 2 jockey roller bolts off, put the rear bolt on and use a screwdriver to tension the belt around it and fit the front screw in. 15 min job.

There is a huge thread HERE on this very subject with all manner of solutions, its whatever floats your boat. I have used the drum slotted into the belt at the side of the machine then swung the drum back into place as well as the old hacksaw frame and using the old belt.

Using the drum to pull the belt on is my preferred method, and I’m not big and strong……. 😉

me too, working for comet I fitted hundreds, like all these jobs the first time you end up stripping the entire thing until you find the best way.
