ParticipantI have a fridge/freezer in the garage now for 4 years. Until now it has worked OK. I have read the articles saying they are not good for garage installation. My problem is that the fridge continues to work but some items in the freezer e.g. bread are no longer properly frozen. The Comet engineer says it is probably a gas leak in the wall insulation as no leaks are visible externally. Is it likely that if I bring the unit indoors that the problem may disappear? I am loath to replace it if it is not faulty.

Hi all
Could we get this topic back on track please.
Has the garage become colder in the past few weeks ?.
You could try to move it into the house to make sure its not due to the amibent temprature. If it does work once moved back n then it would be due to the temprature problems. After 4 years it highly unlikely that there is a leak just appeared.

Participantyes, bryan has a point
it wouldnt hurt to try it in the house for a week or so?
nothing ventured, nothing gained
not all engineers are aware of the ambient temperature problem, it isnt common knowledge
