    Hi,

    Can you advise?

Recently changed the Element on the Father-In-Law’s oven and this is working fine but he now tells me that the fan is working intermittently.

Is this likely to need a replacement fan/motor or are there bushes involved that can be changed?

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Regards

    Paul.

Hi Paul , not sure that model number is complete . However , there are a couple of possibilities….

The fan could be starting to seize . As these fans suck air , rather than blow , they can develop a build up of grease within the fan motor itself or , more often , on the motor’s rear support legs . This can hamper the rotation of the fan shaft.

    OR

The fan blade is catching on the rear plate . These sometimes get a build-up on the inside of the central grill which the fan blade catches on.

    OR

It could be that if he’s selecting and using circotherm grilling , the fan will work intermittently as a matter of course.

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for the tips.

It’s definitely not number 3 so I’ll have to whip the oven out and take a look at the fan/motor and see if I can see anything obvious.
If not, then it’ll have to be a new motor/fan I guess.

As for the model number, that’s the one taken from the front of the User Manual.

    Cheers
    Paul.

Ignore that number. There should be a plate on the inside of the door or the surrounding edge of the oven cavity .
