just put this on the forum but cant see it, so doing it again.

Called on this Bosch tumble dryer 2 days ago for a noisy jockey pulley.

Now c/x complaining not heating properly.

Only heats for a short time on one way action, when it goes the other way the heat stops any suggestions.?

Carbon brush pick-up at the back of drum and on the drum not making properly? Airflow problem with TOC tripped?

Both carbon brushes are making contact and are not worn much.

Airflow fine does has not even trip off cut out stat.

Seems strange that it heats on the shortist reverse then when switches to the main long tumble the heat relay clicks off.

The heater relay has some burn marks on the cover?

c/x after did say it has been taking slightly longer to dry.

What are the resistance readings on the sensors?

Appears to be a pcb fault? wanted to confirm b4 committing.

Well it should switch off on the 5 second reverse so that indicates the module is at fault I would assume?

It’s not looking good for the module and I too would have my suspicions based on those two factors. HTH?

Yes thought it would be that, but needed to confirm.

Ordered a new board and heater sensor from BSH.

Still having exactly the same fault.

There is very little on this tumble dryer, 2 stats, heater, pcb.

So unless the pcb is faultly, I noticed box was not sealed and the part in the box is older than the one coming off and it has been mentioned on the site that parts have been coming through used or faulty?

Any other suggestions, want to try and locate this fault any other help would be appreciated.
This is a sensor type are there any problems with the selector operating module switch behind the facia?

I’m sorry to hear the new PCB didn’t cure the problem. 🙁

By “2 stats” I guess you refer to the overheat stat on the element and the NTC in the door ducting. So my next question is: have you got a reading from the NTC to suggest it’s functioning OK?

Both stats have a reading, the sensor below the door reads ok and the ntc on the heater (which i have replaced), not sure if its within the limits as no tech info!!

    Cheers
