This machine fills then motor cuts in and out as if starting to wash – then 8 flashes – in code book this says water level failure – can anyone give me more of a clue – i.e flow meter or optical sensor or is it something else

    Thanks Franz

    hi mate
i did the whirlpool training course and it sounds like the flow meter, the optical sensor does not normally give that fault

    Hiya,
    I’m ex Whirlpool.
Sorry, flow meter is normally 6 flashes changing to 7 flashes.

8 flashes can be a faulty water indicator, could be filter blocked, water foaming giving a false reading,
    Syphoning can give this reading.
pot turned over and filled with water, reducing the water level
    No stable spray pump working

Is the machine fitted with the Askol pump?
    Has the base flooded?
When it starts does it wash ok for a little while and then start pulsing?
    Check for syphoning.

Hi porsche – no it does’nt get to wash stage really – just fills for about 20-30 secs then starts pulsing.

    Hiya,
Unplug the wash motor and try the machine.
You could also try it with the heater disconneted (will work till it fails on heating) and the dispenser. (Not all at the same time of course).
Finally you could try another coil on the inlet valve.

If it’s still doing it with that lot checked it doesn’t leave a lot of the machine to have gone wrong.
