Participanturgent help needed please 😥
i have a Baumatic BDW15 that once started after a few minutes beeps and shows a E4 error and stops.
there is no water at the bottom of the machine and the polystrene float is not stuck and the tip switch seems to be working the drain hose is fine and the inlet has not been changed.
machine was working fine until salt, rinse aid and 3 in 1 tablets where used.i imagine that this combination has caused the problem.
any help would be very much appriciated.January 8, 2009 at 10:16 pm #272918snoged

From the Chinglish:
“Any time the micro switch has acted for 2 seconds, the dishwasher will shut off all theloads and drain
for thirty seconds, the alarm buzzer will ring for thirty seconds and the windows display E4 . If the
micro switch resets during the draining time, the dishwasher will work normally again, other wise the
dishwasher will keep draining until the micro switch resets.”Penguin45.

You state that there is no water in the tray under the machine. Therefore, the float switch cannot be activated and the machine is lying to you. In this case, check that the heater cut out (black blob screwed to underside of the tank) is showing continuity. If it is, check the heater for resistance (25-30 ohms is acceptable). If that’s in tolerance, the pcb has probably thrown a wobbly and the damn thing wants chucking in a skip.
Power off first, please.
