ParticipantI have a Neff int D/W s5453x1gb/55 that, when a programme is selected it starts to fill then after a while it starts to drain but once the pump comes on it wants to keep filling just back and forth. I replaced the lower side tank bit with the microswitch and float but now think the module controls how much water comes in as I cant find a pressure switch. How does it know how much water to take in before it starts washing??????

The float/microswitch assembly you’ve replaced is the pressure switch unit. 😀
The symptoms suggest that the hose from that unit to the sump is gunged up that’s all? 😕

re gunged up tube to sump it is beautifully clean, something must tell the inlet valve to stop and the recirc motorto start.

Indeed and that is the pressure switch micoswitch (the top one of the two there) that stops it filling.
Just a thought?……No evidence of mice inside the machine by any chance? 💡

Sorry, no sign of mice she has 3 cats. The red float and microswitch combination is the pressure system? even mauually operating the red lever from the anti flood decice just stopped the filling but brought on the pump.

ParticipantClassic symptons of he flow rate meter failure .
Part No 424099 ( impellor jug – official title )
Won’t be sending the correct signal to board
its the ‘white wheel’ inline of the inlet hose before it reaches the water matrix
Replace it and all should be well
