Called to this condenser dryer which was making a vibrating noise. The noise was caused by a small rubber bellows seal behind the rear fan, on the motor shaft. I put a small dab of grease on it, which cured it. (for the moment)
Would it be better to replace it, or remove it? (what cr@p design). Any suggestions apprieciated.
I had to completely dismantle that model the other day to fit a new front fan. There was no such bellows on the one I did just a felt shield around the shaft :?. It seemed to work fine after the repair.
Mike.
The felt bellow was supercided by the rubber one and they are crap. Dont remove it though or it will cause the bottleswitch to warp at the top. I have had a load of these seals coming off or spliting allowing steam to escape up the back and melt the switch, I always re-fit the old felt type seal when replacing bottle switch.
