Smeg is launching a ten-in-one countertop mini oven that operates as an oven, steam oven, air fryer and more and it looks like a neat thing, but as you might expect with Smeg, it’s not cheap!
This one is quite neat and follows Smeg’s retro design look and is available in black or cream but may also be available in a light blue and white in time.
The following programs are available on this Smeg oven:
- Bake – For even browning and a beautiful rise for cakes and pastries
- Convection – For crispy and golden roast veg and potatoes
- Grill & Gratin – Creates a bubbling, melted finish for dishes like potato dauphinoise and pasta bakes
- Bottom – base baking, great for pizza, pastry tarts and crisping from the bottom up
- Air Fry – Golden and crispy results, using less fat, in less time. Perfect for homemade chips, wedges and breaded chicken
- Warm – Gently keep food warm after cooking, for a perfectly timed serving
- Defrost – gently defrost food in a contained environment at a safe temperature, without cooking the food
- Pure Steam – the more nutritious and space saving equivalent to boiling on the hob, use 100 per cent steam to cook rice, vegetables, even curries and casseroles, for delicious and tender results
- Convection Steam – Creates incredible meat roasting results. With caramelised exterior thanks to the oven heat and tender, juicy meat thanks to the addition of steam, this is the perfect function for roasting
- Grill Steam – ideal for cooking pork chops and sausages, to caramelise on the outside, whilst keeping them succulent and tender
This is all great and it looks the part but it also costs a pretty penny, the cheapest we could find for one was over £600! That’s a lot for a small countertop oven.
