Typical, last weekend it was the tumble dryer, now it’s the washing machine.
Good news is that checking this site quickly led me to checking the main motor brushes. Having got the motor out (plug out, water off and drained, turn machine upside down and access it that way), I found the magic video on the spares part of this site which had neat instructions showing how to get the brushes out and identify that they needed replacing. Managed to get new brushes from local appliance centre, followed video, machine now washing and turning again.
Noticeable whining from motor as brushes bed in, won’t worry too much about that yet. Check out the video… and thanks again to whitegoods
