Bosch Maxx Washer WFO2460 drum doesn’t turn

Typical, last weekend it was the tumble dryer, now it’s the washing machine.

Good news is that checking this site quickly led me to checking the main motor brushes. Having got the motor out (plug out, water off and drained, turn machine upside down and access it that way), I found the magic video on the spares part of this site which had neat instructions showing how to get the brushes out and identify that they needed replacing. Managed to get new brushes from local appliance centre, followed video, machine now washing and turning again.

Noticeable whining from motor as brushes bed in, won’t worry too much about that yet. Check out the video… and thanks again to whitegoods

What you may have missed is several posts from experienced trade members warning people not to tip the machine upside down. :rolls:

For any future readers of this thread there is no repair on any washine machine that requires you to tip it upside down.

It is not good practise and can lead to severe damage on certain makes of appliance. :lesson:

That was why the motor was out and on our patio table…….. It’s only a couple of screws and a bit of leverage to remove.

Oops, missed those threads. Presumably then, it should be laid on its side or its back to access the motor?

Leaning the machine to a good angle to the right gives the best access.
