For those of us with long memories (read, old ones) will know that Hotpoint’s home for decades has been Morley Way in Peterborough and now, it’s Beko Europe.
Per the deal that was done with Whirlpool Morley way has now become Beko.
There are over 1000 people employed at the site who are not involved in the ongoing talk about closure in relation to the possible closure of the tumble dryer factory in Bristol.
A spokesman said: “This is only related to the plant in Yate near Bristol. It is a manufacturing plant which produces traditional tumble dryers whereas Peterborough is not a manufacturing site.”
So it looks as if the Peterborough site is safe, at least for now.
