Another year, another CES in Las Vegas and you might have noticed that yet again, we’ve not said anything on the show again, pretty much because there’s not a lot to say in terms of domestic appliances.

We don’t attend the show as it’s more consumer electronics focussed of course but there are often some appliance related things there, some years more than others and this year was a bust so far as appliances go. Kinda.

There was quite a bit of expectation in terms of smart home things so that does play into the appliance world in a number of ways or, you’d think but despite our scouring of show news and reports all we came up with Bosch being the first to introduce a Matter capable fridge freezer and some “AI enabled” things from Samsung and LG, unsurprisingly. There’s a video on that here that echoes our own thoughts on that:

More about our own sentiments on the state of AI for appliances here

Apart from these little snippets we’ve found nothing, nothing at all applaince related from CES this year which is disappointing and only makes it more apparent that, other than a holiday to Las Vegas, which we’ve no issue with, for those of us in the appliance industry it’s probably not worth going to CES.
