There is a slight hum. Is it an expensive fault and will it be cheaper to buy a new one?

Very unlikely, it is possible to test with a meggar but TBH its cheap enough to take a punt on anyway.
Would need serial number to identify correct part as both 7uf & 8uf capacitors have been used on these machines.

I have looked for a Indesit ISL70C Capacitor on here and can’t find one. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thinking that I might just give it up as a bad jump and buy another….

Have you identified wether or not it is a 7uf or an 8uf capacitor yet. It will have this printed on the side.
