This set of fault codes for some ranges of Smeg built-in pyrolitic oven models in the SC and SCP range, the model numbers will start with those letters.
Sadly we do not have a note of the oven model numbers that these error codes relate to.
These error codes may not relate to ALL Smeg ipyrlitic ovens or cookers but there is a good chance that they will represent a good number of products and they will all be based on Smeg electronics and components for the most part so should be fairly standard.

Smeg Oven Spare Parts
We have purposely not listed any Smeg spares in this article as there is a vast range of spares used by Smeg that can be model-specific as well as range specific.
For spares, if it isn’t glaringly obvious which one is required please contact us and ask and have the model and serial numbers from the rating plate of the oven or cooker.
Please, don’t guess or assume as spares can be altered on a production run with the same model number having several different alternative components used.
Smeg Oven Fault Codes
These fault codes are written for oven and cooker repairers and not for the general public by Smeg and they assume a certain level of competence on the part of the user in diagnostic routines. We have added some notes to try to assist you in determining the nature of the fault you have but, you will still need to investigate each failure on its own merits. Defective Sensor
This is detected by the software when the signal at the analogue to digital converter, then recalculated based on the voltage/temperature conversion table continuously indicates an internal oven compartment temperature beyond the range -40°C < Tcf < 600°C for at least 15 seconds. It can indicate an open or short-circuited sensor. In this case, the program stops immediately for safety reasons, all loads open, the cooling motor will continually operate and the error code is displayed on the user interface which can vary depending on the model and control panel. The software continues to check the sensor input and if the error condition is not detected for at least 5 seconds, the error is reset. The interrupted cooking program is not restarted, and to reset the error switch the oven to the OFF position and restart the desired program. The cooling motor continues to operate for one hour after the oven is set to OFF.

Oven Temperature Error DetectedActivated in the following cases: If, during a normal cooking program (pyrolysis is excluded from this check), the oven sensor exceeds 520°C; the software performs the following operations:

Probe is not positioned correctly
The software has detected bad or incorrect positioning of the temperature sensor. An open or short circuit error on the sensor is managed directly as a separate error condition, The algorithm ensures that a badly positioned (but operating) sensor, that would consequently prevent a correct reading of the internal temperature, cannot cause safety problems for the user.

Door lock problem detectedIn pyrolitic mode when the door lock is activated, if the door lock micro-switch is not activated within 90 seconds (mechanical problem or the door is slightly distanced from the front so that the door Microswitch is activated, but the door lock Microswitch is not), pyrolysis is interrupted and the buzzer sounds (1Hz). The alarm is reset by putting the oven into stand-by condition or by switching the function selector to 0 Regardless of the cause of activation of the door lock (pyrolysis, alarm or breaking of the door lock), if the lock Microswitch is activated, the electronic circuit board will be as follows: · Selector position on Pyrolysis → all OK Selector position on STOP → all OK Selector position on a different setting → alarm condition and Buzzer sounding The alarm is reset by putting the oven into standby condition |

Fan oven element error detected
This error is only detected and displayed during the test procedure. The error is detected if the circular heater element is active when the relative function is not selected (standard operating test abnormality). The RL8 oven fan must be activated. The error does not appear on the display. |

Internal fan motor error detected
This error is also only detected during the test procedure. This error is detected if, when a function is selected, the internal fan motor, if required for the function) is disconnected or not working. In this case, the program in progress stops immediately, all loads open and the alarm is displayed on the user interface in the manner prescribed for each user interface, the buzzer is activated (1Hz). The alarm is reset by putting the oven into stand-by condition or by switching the function selector to 0 |

Tangential cooling fan errorThis error is another that is only detected during the appliance test procedure. This error is detected if, when a function is selected, the tangential motor is disconnected or not working. In this case, the program in progress stops immediately, all loads open and the alarm is displayed on the user interface in the manner prescribed for each user interface, the buzzer is activated (1Hz). The alarm is reset by putting the oven into stand-by condition or by switching the function selector to 0 |
