ParticipantHad a phone call about oven that heats, according to my customer to about 75 degrees and no hotter. Said she managed to cook sausages but took an hour or more?
Am i right in thinking this fan oven has only one element, if so what could the fault be?

if the fan is not running correctly the heat will rise from the element, and the capillary above will get too hot too soon and will switch the themostat off. this will give you low temperature.

whenever I get a tempreture related issue unless the cause is obvious I always carry out a temreture check to varify the exact tempreture. Like has been said cant be too many things causing these type of problems.

Thanks all,
only askin before i go because don’t get much call for cookers.
The reason I wondered if my customer was deluded is because I never come across a oven behaving like this before. I though maybe the fan blowing air around the oven may have given the illusion of warmth to someone putting their hand in?

Also possible are partly burnt terminal and intermittent discontinuity 8) within element.

Have had this a few times with appliances that use selector switch and thermostat mounted on the back, if thermostat is dislodged with its shaft coming out of the the back of selector switch.
Can happen if customer turns selector switch wrong way.

Not sure of this model…..BUT does it have a “Fan” element i.e. circular element around the fan?
went to a bosch recently that had a fan …..but only a top and base element. The top element (and grill) working fine but the bottom element was open circuit. The oven was getting warm but not hot!
