Participantdoes anyone know were i can get a awo_r4205 element at a sensible price?
part number :481225928823
I cannot seem to source this for anything less than £59 from any of my suppliers.
Or alternatively anyone know if there is a patent variant rather than a genuine as i think 60 pounds is a hell of a price for a w/m element.
Regards in advance
Also am i really having to extract the drum to replace this part … upon investigation it appears to me this cabinet is spot welded throughout… seems like a lot of work just to replace a part that can be quite prone to future replacements.April 2, 2009 at 6:24 pm #282061Washman

Ah I hear the lid opening on the worm can again 😉
Put Connect in search. MANY different prices depending on your account and how much you spend 👿

£37.20 to me.
I’d take a good look at the pic and the details (240mm, 2050watts) and take along whatever you have in stock which might fit, if the job’s not too far away. (Tell customer that correct part is both much more expensive and would take time to get hold of, if they ask). In situations where it is necessary to wait for part, I leave old heater in but disconnected and advise customer to use hot fill only programme to fill machine or use cold wash. Though this is more difficult with modern machines.

once again thanks for reply…
Ive sourced what i hope to be a suitlable replacement off europart..
I put in the original part number and they came up with 34-wp-10 as a suitable replacement only their picture lists it at 247mm and doesnt list the wattage (2050) as the original is, yet the original off connect lists it at 240mm…. im just hoping europart is measuring it end to end and connect from the fixing plate then this would seem correct.
Anyone ever used 34-wp-10 and is it correct?
Hopefully it is as its a lot cheaper off europart.
Im also surprized a failed element didnt trip the customers consumer unit… modern house modern fuse box…. am also wondering if it may of damaged the board / pcb… never checked that but will do before i fit a new element.April 4, 2009 at 5:11 pm #282073leavemetogetonwithit

Was it showing low insulation on the megger? An element can go o/c without going low insulation. Especially if there’s a pressure switch issue and the element overheats, blowing its internal toc. Best check that if so.

Had the same model this week with an O/C element and as soon as the machine locked the door the service light comes on.
Pricey element though. -
