I’ve seen quite a few tacho coils dropping off and always manage to refit them okay. Is the clip that holds them in place generally available as a spare part? I’m thinking specifically of a candy CAW1010 whose owner has contacted me saying they have been told they must have a new motor because the tacho coil keeps dropping off.

I stick a spurt of superglue on them. Seems to work.

i carry debor use it on screws as an antishake or to screw tacho magnets into zannussi machines if i used superglue it may go off bfore bolt is tight or fully home superglue is one of those last resort answers and i dont want to spend rest of the day with my thumb and forefinger stuck together lol 😆

I tend to use silicone sealer for all those kind of jobs.

seems to be a lot of vibration if they just “fall off” ive not known nothing fall off for nothing.

only ever found a tacho hanging once on a whirlpool… brushes were well down!

Seems to be a pretty common problem on modern machines, they don’t stay attached like they used to. Have to say Never had 1 due to worn brushes but will wait & see.

    Re: Tacho coil dropping off

Brushes mite of been a coincidence… i persumed that it had fell off due to vibration ( badly spinning ) from low brushes, had i come across many tacho faults like this i could maybe then persume different… 😛

I don’t use debor in that place. It’s only a small risk but once cured debor catches alight it carries on burning! I don’t remember how I learnt this but I must have done some sort of experiment at some time in the past 😳 .

Magnet comes unscrewed and forces coil out of motor.
