ParticipantPlease help, everything works fine except for the fridge, I installed a new computer module at the weekend and the fridge is still not cooling even on the lowest setting. Originaly it was not cooling and the light would always be on until the bulb blew. Since the new board has been in the light now switches off but does not cool in the fridge, any ideas, thanks in advance.

Can you hear the motor/copressor running, black dome device at rear.
Carefully check if it’s warm or hot.
UNPLUG FIRSTMay 21, 2009 at 1:21 pm #287495steved20

Is there any frost in the freezer,if so you could have a blocked evaporator so no cool air to fridge,if there is frost on the back panel inside the freezer it’s a sure sign.
You could remove false back of freezer and defrost with hair dryer,no sharp objects allowed!! and switch off. There may be a specific cause but can sometimes it’s caused by door ajar overnight etc.
UNPLUG first of course.May 21, 2009 at 6:58 pm #287497steved20

there is quiet a bit of frost in the freezer, I will defrost it tonight and see it it comes back to life in the morning, it has always built of lot of frost up from new, do you know if this fridge has some sort of diverter on it, like when the compressor is not being used for the fridge its being used for the freezer?
nice looking fridge pain in the arse though, again thanks for your help in advanceMay 22, 2009 at 11:08 pm #287498spimps

There isn’t a valve on this one they aren’t fitted much now,all cheap and nasty!
Cold air is blown up from the freezer through chanels in the rear wall of the unit so once it’s blocked with frost no air circulation.
Will need 24 hours with freezer door open to defrost unless youhelp it with a hair dyer etcMay 28, 2009 at 5:42 pm #287499steved20

If the Freezer is okay and the fridge is to warm it sounds like a thermistor problem which is not replaceable, there is however a timed control module part n/o C00262537 to overcome this problem, i have fitted a few of them and it works okay on most the time only one i had a problem with was a F/freezer in a big house it was situated in a annexe with no heating as the ambiant temp was low, and the module relied on time the fridge then started running to cold. OOps looks like I misled you on this one,I pictured it as a cold air blown up from the freeezer type but it obviously has an evaporator in the fridge.
