Hi, our aeg seems to be having difficulty working. It was put on last night on the auto cycle and around halfway through it stopped, started pumping out and the bottom light kept on flashing. When it was opened a flashing line and 30 appeared in the display. What does it mean and how do we sort it out?

    Thanks

Yep, it is the Favorit F86070VI an integrated model. After a bit of digging around on the internet, it says the 30 code means the leak prevention system has been activated. Is there any way to cure it without a £47.50 per hour engineer?

    Hi Adam,

Flood protection activated – the base tray is full of water and the float switch has over-ridden the programming.

First step is to get rid of the water. I would suggest that you get the machine removed from the housing, then remove the decor door. Once you’ve done that, you can remove the front lower cover and side panels and have a look at what’s going on. With the power off and some towels down, tip the machine to one side to drain the water in the tray, the machine should then re-set and become functional. If you have an adequate length of fill hose, run the machine. Using a bit of caution, look under the machine carefully – you’re playing spot the leak. A torch will help.

BTW, it’s £50 for the first hour down here in Leeds.

See what you can find and report back.
