I have a Bosch dishwasher (model SGS4332GB/29) 8 years old.

I noticed over a few days that it wasn’t washing and drying properly, and found that it’s washing in cold water. No heat at all appears to be there at any stage in the washing & drying cycle. I’ve tried different programs & opened the door mid-cycle to feel the water (it’s cold).

Does this sound like a heater replacement is needed – or could it be something else ? If the heater, is this a DIY job (I’m reasonably adept at DIY) and how do I get at it ?

Any thoughts & advice appreciated. Thanks. MW

    hi

there are a usually few reasons why these dont heat

1 not enough water in the appliance
    2 module faulty
    3 heater open circuit

they usually happen in 1,2,3 order as well

check to make sure it is filling correctly (when washing the whole of the bottom of the tank will be covered in water,)

*****POWER OFF BEFORE ATTEMPTING THE FOLLOWING STEPS*****

check the control module, power for the heater comes from the thick red wire on the module so remove it and open the plastic case and check for dry joint where the red wire joins the module

using a test meter check the element and thermostats (NCTs)

    hope this helps

Thanks, that’s really useful. I’ll check these out. I’m pretty sure it’s not the water level but will double-check. Cheers MW
