    Help!

I have just moved into a flat with a built in front loading washer/dryer.

There is no brand name on it, and no model number, just a plain white fascia. Because it’s built in, I can’t see behind it. The User Manual I have been given is for a different washing machine.

I would like to find out what Brand/Model it is, so that I can get a manual to match it, and make best use of it.

I’m hoping that someone will recognise the description below, which I have tried to make as accurate as possible.

Above the window of the washing drum there is a control panel.

    From left to right:

A soap dispenser tray. The symbols on it are (hyphens only there for formatting!):

    1 95 White Cotton (—————–) 5 40 Non Colourfast Cottons
    2 80 Colourfast Cottons (———-) 6 40 Acrylics & Delicates
    3 60 White Nylon (——————) 7 40 Wool & Wool mixtures
    4 50 Coloured Nylon Polyester (–) 9 95 Special Finish White Cottons

    A Prewash (————————-) D Prewash
    B Rinses & Spin (——————–) E Quickwash
    C 1200 Spin (————————) F Rinse & Spin
    (—————————————-) G 500 Spin Dry

To the right of the drawer are 4 buttons and a light, going from left to right:
    Aquaplus Rinse
    Half Load
    Spin Delay
    On Off
(The light is the power indicator)

To the right of the buttons and light are 3 dials

The first one from the left is “WASH TEMPERATURE”
    with settings for 0 30 40 50 60 70 80 and 95
(starting on west of dial and going clockwise)

    The second is “DRYING TIMER”
    with settings marked 0 (dot) 20 (dot) 40 (dot) 60 (dot) 80 (dot) 100 (dot) 120
(starting north of dial and going anticlockwise)

The third dial is marked “WASH & DRYING PROGRAMMES”
    with settings A 1&9 2 5 B C D 3 4 E F 6&7 G
(starting from norht of the dial and going clockwise)

I can’t find any other identifying features on the washer/dryer. I think the term “Aquaplus rinse” is unusual, and wonder if that may help to identify it.

Can anyone identify this machine? Or have any ideas about how I can identify it?

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Trying to identify Brand and Model of my washing machine

Aqua plus rinse was used on some BSH appliances, but they also do normally have clear and obvious model numbers on them.

Can you access a pump filter at the bottom, sometimes a rating plate is behind the flap or door.

Failing that can you post up a couple of pictures, use imageshack or similar web hosting site.

If you cannot do that then I will PM you my e-mail address and you can send them to me and I will upload them for you.

Apart from that its ‘drag it out time’ 😥

    Jim.

    Thanks Jim,

No fittings or flaps available for me to inspect.

I’ve uploaded 5 photos to a Picasa Web album:

Not done that before, so I hope it works.

    Hoping it rings some bells.

Forgot to say that I believe the machine may well be 15 years old, although it may never have been used.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I don’t know what a rating plate is, but I’ve opened the door, and can see nothing that looks like a plate – it’s completely featureless.

If you remove the bottom wooden plinth there may be some info behind that.

    Hi Bazza500,

    Thanks for the reply.

Any idea how I could find out the model number?

Sadly the plinth is solidly attached to the floor, and I can see no way of removing it without destroying it.

It may be behind the chipboard or wood plinth at the bottom.

Sadly not the best machine on the market by a long chalk, Servis UK have gone bump. 😥

Oops, just spotted bazza’s post. 😳

It may be screwed from the front or the screws could be going down into the plinth inside the cupboards. I doubt it will be attached to the floor.

TBH most of the basic wash details are on the front of the soap drawer, have you any particular questions about using the machine. We could take a stab at answering them by looking at your pictures.

It will have to come out sooner or later so the plinth will have to go at some point. 😉

Its unlikely to be 15 years old, they don’t usually last that long. 😥

The Servis web site is defunct, so no manuals there I’m afraid.
