ParticipantVery noisey when spinning. All functions ok, no leaks. Mqchine 4 years old.
Is this a bearings problem, can they be replced?

How can i find out if the bearings are diy replaceable or whether they are the sealed unit ypes I’ve heard about that basically means a new machine?

Remove the mains plug and take the top off, if it looks like the drum in the picture in THIS article then its a sealed drum.
That said even if it is one on which bearings can be changed it is not really a simple DIY job. Quite a long involved strip down which can turn out to be very expensive if the drum shaft is damaged.
PS. I will move this to the ‘WASHING MACHINE’ forum, Unless you are actually using it as a dishwasher which would explain thie noise. 😆

Ok so is it worth getting it fixed by an engineer.

Not looked whether sealed or not yet.

Just checked on that model number and some of them have the split tub and later ones have the all in one welded tub. :rolls:
Tough call really, welded tub, possibly not worth it, split tub depends on how long it has been left with the bearings making a noise. A major strip down either way but not easy to tell if the drum shaft is damaged until you open it up TBH.

Sounds like a new machine then. What a rip off. Serial number 70700270 model number 914522201-01
if that sheds any light on it.July 27, 2009 at 11:42 pm #293306Penguin45

Not really – you’ve a machine manufactured down to your budget and you bought it.
Set your budget somewhat higher and do your research. As an ISE agent, I would point you at http://www.iseappliances.co.uk – our machines don’t suffer these problems.
You absolutely will get what you are prepared to pay for.
