ParticipantHi there
We have a Diplomat ADP 3850 Single oven which was working fine one moment and then seems to be dead the next. We’ve had it from brand new for almost three years and its been great. However, the display is now blank and when turning the knobs to use the grill or the oven nothing happens, the fan doesn’t turn and there is no heat.
We have checked the power going in with a meter and there is power going into the oven just nothing else happening
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Many Thanks

If the display is blank and it’s an LED timer/clock it’s very possibly the timer that’s gone. I can’t seem to find that model number.
If not do check it’s not on automatic
Other than that, mains terminal block fried?

Hi there
Thanks for the update.
The display is an LED display and it does have a timer. However, it is blank and the buttons don’t seem to be doing anythingI’m assuming then that this means that the Main Terminal Block is gone??
If I may ask, whats one of these?? Can it be replaced?? Is it expensive to replace and is it worth it??July 31, 2009 at 9:26 am #293569kwatt

Assume nothing, test everything. 😉
Mains goes to the terminal block and then to the timer, sometimes by way of a thermal cut out thermostat so that’s a possibility if one is there but, without a good model number I can’t check it for you.
Mains terminal blocks are cheap and the sort of thing you can see here
Thermal cut outs are usually not that expensive either.
Oven timers however are often ludicrously expensive.

Hi there
Looks like I got the model number incorrect and it was actually ADP 3650
We’ve opened it up and it looks like the clock/timer has gone 🙁 Based on this, we’ve decided to bin it 🙁October 5, 2009 at 1:21 am #293573gandh1

£50-60 for timer, so not cheap, but not as expensive as others!
