I have a problem with this machine in that it originally didnt spin.Replaced the Brushes (totally shot) and now there is no motor action at all. The motor megas ok, I have checked all wiring & connections. I am convinced there is a fault in the wiring as after messing, pulling and prodding it will start to tumble for a few minutes then stop again but I just calnt find the offender! Any ideas??

Does sound like a bad connection, have sent you the wiring diagram.

Well you could pull off the motor plug and the plug that fixes to the module and firmly connect a test lamp (faster to read than most digital meters) using male 1/4″ spades
at each end of each wire in turn and wiggle till you find the intermittent connection. It’ll be the motor plug itself (I mean the one that plugs into the motor) most likely cause that’s the one that gets jiggled about. Just rewire using insulated amp tags.
    Mike.

Or use the special pliers provided by Hotpoint to refit the wires into the Pressac plug, thats assuming you have a pair of course. 😉

They haven’t “provided” me with any. Think I’d probably say no thanks if they wanted to. 😆

Connect want £120 for one if you fancy a Hotpoint ‘Wire Insertion Tool’ Mike? Check one out Hotpoint Part No: 570108

At that price they must be queuing at the door to buy one…..:rotl:

(Think I might flog a spare one I have on ebay in that case…..£100 maybe??????? – bargain :snigger:)
