A common one in the current crop of Servis machines is a blocked soap dispencer hose, but irrespective of that you really should pursue the retailer and not Servis UK as, in law, it is their responsibility under The Consumer Goods Act to provide an appliance that is “fit for the purpose”.

I’ve not seen any of that series with doors falling open during a wash and I’ve seen one or two, but I have seen the odd one that will burst onto spin during a wash which is the PCB that’s duff normally.

From the point of view of the service engineer, this intermittent fault is one of the most difficult to find. Because this machine is computer controlled, you can’t diagnose things quite so readily. However, if the machine spins during a wash/rinse cycle this could cause water to come out of the soap dispenser and subsequently give the impression of a door leak. In this case it seems the engineer has carried out the correct repair process but as stated earlier your gripe is with the retailer.

If the machine “jetted into spin” during a wash cycle, yes. The water would “spew” out the soap dispenser and in serious cases the door would burst open. The pressure system notices the water level is down and then will call for more water to replace the loss.

The only evidence would be the door being open when discovered and perhaps the machine had moved from the normal position on the floor.

Another likely cause is overdosing or wrong detergent. The water would come out clean but there would be soapy streaks inside the cabinet under the soap dispenser. This is a very common scenario.

As stated earlier, intermittant faults or cases where it doesn’t manifest itself, very difficult to trace and effect a cure. You can’t fix a fault that isn’t there.
