    Hi
The problem/issue: The door will not close, it fails to latch on.
Was workign fine, but heard a small noise and since the door has failed.
    Any ideas?
Is this something I could fix myself? Being quote £45 callout +parts +VAT to fix….probably cheaper to get a new one?

    Many thanks in advance!

There should be 2 spring loaded hooks poking out of the door. If you move one hook they should both move and spring back when released. If this does not happen you will find the latch head mechanism is broken inside the door. It’s often a bit tricky to dismantle the door without breaking off any of the small plastic lugs that hold it together.

That seems to be the problem. If I move either of the two, they are not spring loaded and just slump. You say it’s tricky to dismantle the door….would it be cheaper/easier to get a new door? If I try to dissmantle, what parts do I need and are there any special tips on how to do this job?

    Many thanks

No, the door would be very expensive. Actually I’m having second thoughts about advocating this as a DIY repair, although you don’t need to touch the dangerous high voltage bits. If you were to assemble the door incorrectly you could end up with harmful microwave leakage. I would always test for microwave leakage after doing any repair on these ovens but you probably won’t have access to a test meter. You might find there is a local appliance repairer or even a TV repairer who can do the repair and/or do the leakage test. You could make an enquiry for the latch at the Shop@ part of this website but they may refuse to supply the part for the reason stated. The latch head only costs a few pounds.
