Can anyone shine a light on this little beauty:

Smeg SUK91 range cooker, the type with two fan motors and two fan elements in the oven.

One fan element open circuit (no obvious short), replaced, now only one will get 240v, if you disconnect either the other will get the power but not both together. I have printed the wiring diagram off and both appear to get their power from the selector switch and the small relay pcb. Both of these appear to be ok.

I would suspect the pcb but both relays seem to energise ok.

    Baffled 😕

Hi Dave I have had the same sympton on the same model,on two different appliances.
Only trouble was on one a new selector cured it ,and on the other the pcb/relay cured it . 🙄
If its under warranty order both and fit both

I’d generally agree with Lawrence as well if you want to kill the call on the first hit and it’s under warranty, if not I’d go for the PCB as we had a similar failure on the new A1.1 IIRC which has two of the little beggers just to make life more interesting. 😕

Thanks both, it’s actually under extended-warranty. The insurer in question usually questions multiple parts fit, but they will get a fax today telling them a triple call will cost them more than the parts so I’ll gain authority to fit both. 😀

Check on the back, above the terminal block, some models have a toc which is a square block shape with four seperate connectors. I had half of one of these blow in tandem with the fan element and it casued all sorts of strange faults, (even the clock buzzer made a strangulated noise!) and no feed to the elements. Sorry not at home right now so cannot check the part number or model.
