ParticipantHello
I have an indesit ISL70C tumble dryer. It won’t dry on the sensor settings. The program will last about 10-15 minutes before it stops, and the clothes are still wet. The dryer works on timer settings ok, just not on the sensor settings.
Can anyone help.

Participantdepends on variant
theres 2 designs, one has a band around the drum with a brush, the other has a sensor in the front baffle
usually its the earlier ones that faulter.. usually the brush breaks, or the band becomes dislodged and the insulation breaks
failing that, itll be the dreaded module fault

Thanks, Ive had the lid off and it has a metal strip that runs around the drum with a brush.. Would you say the brush is at fault or the metal strip, any suggestion would be appreciated.

Participantthere should be some sort of insulation between the drum and the band… often, the insulation slips out, and the band touches the drum, which it shouldnt

Billiant, that has happened. There is a plastic sheet under the metal strip which has come out in places, i will start there. Thank you very much and I will post whether It was succesul or not.

Participantpushing it back in wont work
u need to take a multimeter and check if theres continuity between the band and tthe drum
if there is, then it wont function correctly
trust me, thats ur problem, its a pig to sort, even indesit changed the way it worked it was such an issue

before anyone says anything, i know im being cheeky here, but is this the same problem with all merloni-brand sensor dryers with drum sensor bands? and could it throw up a f-15 error on lcd display dryers?!
*cheesey innocent grin*
