I have had my Tricity Bendix Fridge Freezer for a couple of years with no problems, I have just moved house and now the fridge section is freezing everything in the fridge, even on the lowest setting. It is model number TB 117 FF. The freezer is working fine, the fridge has a little bit of ice on the back, but not much. I have tried turning it off and then back on again, and I tried cleaning out the little drainage hole at the back….

Is this a thermostat problem? And if I buy a new thermostat, is it simple enough to change?

Thanks for all your help! 😀

Possible its low on gas & not cooling enough to achieve low enough temerature for thermostat to cut-out, just a thought. Could be a faulty thermostat either. 2425021181 part num for t’stat

Thanks, how do I go about checking the gas levels?

Would it be worth just changing the thermostat first to see if that is the problem? Also, is this a difficult job? 😕

    Hi.

From your point of view, the thermostat is much easier to replace so it may, depending on how you view the situation, be best to replace it & monitor. I suspect though hat the system may be more likely the cause & almost certainly the issue if this doesn’t resolve the issue.

A system fault could be quite pricey & may render the product beyond economical repair.
