ParticipantI have a Hotpoint WD420 washer dryer. I’ve just replaced the main PCB and the front control PCB (both refurbished).
There are no flashing lights and everything works fine when using the individual settings, but when put on a wash, it just keeps washing! It doesn’t stop and rinse, just keeps washing.
Can anyone shed light on this problem please? Is there some way I can reset the machine?
(I’m just polishing my sledge hammer in case I need to use it! 😆 )
Thank you.November 4, 2009 at 6:43 pm #302613Washman

Thanks for the replies.
Yes it’s programmed for this machine (as far as I know!). It was double checked too as I sent it back for the company to confirm it was working.
The heater and wires were ok when I put it back together and tested them. I’m planning on checking it out again to see if there is anything obvious happening.
I was hoping there was a simple reset sequence I could try but I can’t find anything on it.November 6, 2009 at 3:20 am #302616gandh1

Will wash indefinitely with O/C heater. 😉

Tested the heater and it is indeed dead! Ordered one from here so hopefully that will cure the problem.
Many thanks once again guys for the help and advice.November 12, 2009 at 7:25 pm #302620PaulGreyhead

Just thought I’d give an update.
I replaced the main heater element as advised and the machine now seems to be working properly.
So thanks again to all that helped me with this.I did however notice something that I think is wrong, and I’ve made a new post here: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … 298#250298
Any help with the new problem (if it is a problem!) will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
