ParticipantHI 🙂
Called to this fridge freezer this morning the compliant was freezer defrosted . I put it in sevice mode and no faults were indicated and also put it in forced operation and seemed ok ❓ took both evaporator covers off and checked elements toc’s & ntc everthing checks out ok .after 30mins doing all this I put it back together and its fired into life ( not literary 😆 ) when I first walked into the kitchen I did notice it was cold 12oC so Im now thinking its the ambient temp and its switching off in the night. On the back of her instruction book there is alist of temp classes SN N ST T so I checked the Class on the appliance and its T tropical minimum 18oC ( has someone told the Koreans the UK is in the tropics or something 😆 ) has anyone had this problem before and can it be changed to class SN and what parts are needed 😕Thanks Mark 😀

we had a few of these that run ok untill they enter defo mode..
then they switch off.. if customer switch of at socket and then back on f/f will run ok untill defo.. if this is what this is doing it will be the drain hole heater in fridge , the 2 wires that go down drain hole will be perished o/c ..its a bit of a funny one to diagnose but i would check this part if you havent done so already.. drain hole heater is independant of evap heater

I did check the heater and it was ok but thinking about it I dont think I disconnected it from the evap heater so I will pop back and check it again 🙂 markNovember 17, 2009 at 11:47 am #302706mbdas

we have seen lots with this type of drain heater failure and the mess it leaves , i have always just replaced and had no probs …
think its build up of water and breakdown of heater wire that causes mess…
