when i turn on my hotpoint dwf35 dishwasher the digital counter shows an excessive time and after it has run for half an hour seems to add more time to the cycle, all in all takes about 4 hours to complete and doesnt seem to get water hot either, any ideas before i tear it all down.

It’s a Bosch-based machine. A read of THIS THREAD will probably help you.

just had it all in bits and yep that bit was clogged up, cleaned it out put it back together but same problem, its as though it doubled every programme time. Could it be anything to do with water temp as is doesnt seem to be getting warm?

PCB – burnt out solder joint is a strong possibility. That said, the start time should be correct and adjust later.

Can you post up all the numbers in the etched panel on the the top edge of the door? There might be a way to save you a few bob.

Re: hotpoint dwf 35 cycle problems

The etched panel doesnt seem to be there, not sure if its come unstuck at some part of its life, thought it would be a shame not to repair the washer as its never let me down and its had alot of work, not into this throw away society either, too many manufactures are happy to use cheaply made parts to produce low quality goods for the high street. Thanks for the offer though. Had to order a full heater unit, shame really as the element can be removed but cant seem to buy this as a separate peice.

Its etched into the top of the stainless steel inner door, it can’t ‘come away’. 😉

You need to get the door at the right angle, shining a torch on the top edge sometimes helps to make it visible, its more or less in the centre of the door above the latch.

Re: hotpoint dwf 35 cycle problems

Installed the new heater unit last night, switched on and the timer still showed 199 minuits, let the machine run a cycle so the timer had chance to learn a wash time. Now all the wash times are back to normal around 110 minuits and the water gets nice and hot. All is well thanks for the help. By the way found the engraved plate, how could you have saved me some money? Just for next time it plays up!

Because one of them will work on the BSHcustomerservice.com site, allowing you to source the parts that way. You’re paying twice if you sdource through Indesit.
