    Hi,

I have this DW. It’s around 5 yrs old. Today after a 90min wash, the door and the crockery was still dirty.

I’ve cleaned out the filters, topped up the salt and rinse agent and then did another wash, this time with it empty. When finished, the door was still dirty. There were some toast crumbs there from earlier.

I’ve read about pouring hot water from the kettle down into the bottom under the mesh filter. I did this, but the water doesn’t go away. Should it? *it went away when I started a program.

There are no fault lights or beeps. It beeps 4 times when the program has finished which I think is normal, so it *thinks* it’s working I guess.

I put it on rinse and opened the door after 4 mins. The water was above the filters. Also, I put the arms at the 6 o’clock position and at the end of the program they were still in that position.

We’re just about to have a 2nd baby, so we need this thing to work, or get a replacement!

What could it be, and can I fix it? I’m quite handy if it’s physical rather than electrical.

    Thanks

    Lee

p.s. I did a thorough clean of all the filters, C tube and spray arms in the summer. All of it was disgusting. Since then, the only build up of dirt/grime on the filters is like a black sooty deposit. Odd, but I thought worth mentioning.

I’ve read the forums here before registering today and I’ve noticed a user called Penguin mention this: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix- … -pump.html dreaded part. Looking at the pictures on that page, I noticed the black deposits in the 3rd pic are the same as the grime on the filters.

Make sure that the pipes behind the bottom rotor are located properly. If they’re out you lose pressure to both rotors.

    Failing that, the pump………..

I’m sure the pipe is in good….

So, the pump. Better call someone out I guess.

Is this worth repairing for the cost, or just replace it now. It is 5 years old.

Oh, how could I test the motor to confirm it’s kaput?

Wait for it to fill, give it a minute, then open the door quickly. You should get slightly wet and see water spraying…..l

    Replacement is HERE.

What if there is a blockage somewhere?

Possible, but unusual on these………. Up to you to strip it down and find out, though.
