    Hello,

Like a number of the other posts on here, half way through a wash our machine started clicking around the dial.

My wife switched it off. I have used the guidance on here, switched it on to a cycle and it comes up with three quick flashes on the LED.

Does this mean error code 3?

If so what does this mean and how would I fix it?

If it’s any help, I have put the machine on both the rinse and spin options and it makes a noise but the drum doesn’t spin.

    Thank you for your help

An error code is represented by a repetative pattern of flashing lights from the start lamp whilst the dial clunks round.. Normally, three quick flashes indicates that the programme has been accepted and things should proceed…

I suspect that you are describing a motor fault – select programme, door locks, nothing happens. In this case, go straight for the drive motor and check the carbon brush gear.

Article on carbon brush drive motors can be found HERE.

A selection of Indesit carbons (one of which will fit your machine) can be found HERE.

Power off if you intend to investigate this yourself.

Whilst it’s far from the finest washer ever built, carbon brush wear is a maintentance job and should at least be investigated.

    Penguin,

    Thank you for your help.

I’ll unplug in the morning and have a look.

In the meantime I’ve broken the pump filter thingy at the front of the machine. It appears a the bobbles on a pair of my wife’s Christmas socks have disintegrated in the machine and I thought some of them might be stuck in hear – which wasn’t the case!

I’ve found one on here and they are £20. Will read brush article in the morning and see what I can see.

    All the best tonight.
