ModeratorWell its finally beaten me.
Managed to get out every day before and during Xmas & New Year, only just at times but this morning I am well and truly snowed in and its still coming down.
I vote for global warming as soon as it can be arranged please. :rolls:
Still the third test in S Africa is boiling up nicely, will have to watch that this morning and hope I can get out later.
Jim.

Yes, it’s getting bad here. We still have snow from before Christmas so each fresh fall just adds extra depth. I have to go across the car park of the hotel next door to get to the road but the hotel has closed down so mine is the only vehicle using it. Most of it is now about 10″ deep but I try to keep a bit cleared to get in and out.

If I could get to the main road about half a mile away I would be OK but there is only one road off our area and it is steep, twisty and lined with stupidly parked cars. 😈

I use various methods. sometimes upload them to my own, ISP provided web space, at other times use an online file and image hosting web site.
That one for instance has been uploaded to Imageshack then the url is copied and pasted between the image tags available just above the posting window.
If you right click on any image and select Properties you can find out where it is hosted.

Snow now falling here, too. And settling. A rather rare occurrence. There’s an inch out there at the moment
😯 .
Looks like a day off for me tomorrow 😀
Still, plenty to do indoors. Might try and get to a couple of local jobs.

Glad to see people enjoying it. 🙂
The downside of course is the mayhem it also brings.
I’ve had a thoroughly miserable start to the year as, aside from being a bit unwell, a mains pipe has burst in my driveway which I don’t think is our supply. Of course Scottish Water deny all responsibility as it’s on private ground but can’t tell me what this supply is for or where to switch it off, most helpful.
Anyways, that burst on New Year’s Day (we think) and has created an ice flow at the foot of the drive. My car isn’t going anywhere, totally icebound until it thaws out or we can clear the ice somehow, which would be a minor miracle given the well below freezing average. Currently there’s about a foot or so of solid ice on the drive which has lumping great holes in it due to the running water underneath the ice sheet.
Yesterday was the first day I’ve not had a visit from the police because, the ice and water is running out onto a main road and pavement presenting a public safety issue as they say. Over 100 complaints about it to the local authority and still, Scottish Water can’t answer two simple questions so we can get it fixed.
I’m currently sat waiting on some dude from them arriving to try to figure out what this supply is for and where we isolate it.
Kinda puts into perspective the whole, “my washer’s been broken for a week” whining.
But anyway, in the meantime, I don’t suppose anyone would have a good way of clearing foot plus thick ice would they? Already been down the bonfire and flamethrower road and, apparently, they don’t allow that… something about polar bears and warming. :rolls:

Yes. You get two mugs to dig it away. (Don’t tell her I said that)

Up at six this morning digging out the drive and the road at the bottom.
Ventured out a 8.30 and somehow made it to the main road which is just about passable with extreme care.
Had to walk to all three calls from the main road this morning. 😥
Back out again now to try and clear a few more, ” I’m going outside, I may be some time ” 😉
