hi guys ,ive seen a few similar problems here i just need to clarify if i have the same problem , d/w is full of water ,the matrix is half full of water the part of the matrix that comes to the bottom of the d/w has a solenoid where it turns into the flexi hose that goes to the drain , when i turn on the d/w lights come on and i can hear the pump trying to run , i say trying because its a faint hum it does this for 15 – 20 seconds and stops and comes on again faint hum 15-20 sec stops about 3 or 4 times does this indicate a blockage in the pump? and where exactly is it acessable from outside or inside the cavity ? thanks fellers

Two pumps. Drain and circulation. When you start a programme it should drain. Press the two buttons with the dots and the line underneath and it should cancel the programme and drain out. If it does, the drain pump is fine.

Your description points more towards a circulation pump problem. It may be jammed, blocked or seized due to leakage. If it is free to turn, the start/run capacitor may have failed.

Power off for anything other than observation.

Definitely sounds like a blocked drain pump. When working normally , they will work/stop/work/stop/work/stop…then pump continuously. If you look in the very bottom of the sump inside , is there a white cover with a single torx 20 headed screw holding it on ? If there is you moght want to try taking this cover off as this will expose the pump impellor and you may find a piece of glass/crockery or bone trapping the impellor.
Remember to fix the cover back on before testing though as it won’t drain without it .

Not really. If you put it on reset and it doesn’t drain – and you can hear a faint buzz , then it’ll be either a blcoked or knackered drain pump. When you reset the appliance , the drain pump is the only working part that is activated.

ok guys , took apart the cover in the sump , the pump was a bit sticky and there was a trace of food on the inside of the cover plate so i washed it off spun the impeller around a few times replaced the cover and it started up straight away drained water and stopped . i ran a 45 degree quick wash and all is well , thanks for all the advice penguin and nomad 😀
