Why would you avoid one of the worlds largest appliance companies ?
There crap for sure, but repair is our game and I’m damned if such crap will make me afraid.
You may find it easier to list the appliances that arn’t Haier originals. 😉

You may find it easier to list the appliances that arn’t Haier originals. 😉 You winding me up 😉 I am not afraid of them I have just got standards and fortunatley plenty of other calls to be able to blacklist them. It’s bad enough working on integrated appliances due to crap installation by so called trades people who I wouldn’t pay with washers.
I prefer to leave Haier to the local competition and let them get frustrated and waste their time. If you are happy with them then that is up to you. Give it ten years and Haier may be producing better quality and I might change my mind, if I havn’t retired 😀Anyway back to the thread please 😉

This is a serious question so I can vent some frustration, all I need is a Haier dishwasher, of any flavour, a video camera (which I have) and some advice….
Does anyone know how best to create a controlled explosion that would blow an appliance apart using household stuff that we can get at the supermarket or a DIY store?
Of course this is therapeutic in intent.

KeymasterI was looking for a more practical method of destruction, preferably complete destruction. 😉

The thing is, with this cheap and nasty rubbish, you end up spending a lot of time. And time is not cheap but the punter isn’t willing to pay a fair price for your time when the appliance was so cheap in the first place.
(Notice the emphasis on time.)(And the italicisation on cheap.) I know it’s all been said before but it needs repeating from time to time.

KeymasterThere’s no Haier worth spending that sort of money on that you’d need to shell out for a tank. Unless of course you’re taking out the factory, in which case it’s a justifiable expense IMO.
I guess that there may be something of an international incident if that were to happen though and all the do-good liberals would be up in arms, again.
Saying that, the Chinese Government thought it was okay to do that sort of thing to a few students whining in a square one afternoon…
I’m betting they’d kick off about it. 😉

I can have a word with UKW member Musket if you wish – he has a Cat 3 explosives licence and has been featured on Scrapheap Challenge several times.
Not bad for my ex-apprentice. 😀
