    Whirlpool AKZ146/1X single oven. 858514615021. 140338005259.

The machine had an element failure. Sorted that and the oven seemed fine. As it got hotter, the display started to falter and sections of the numerals disappeared. I looked at the control unit behind the fascia and found that if I wiggled the cables it affected the display. Customer then says, “Yes the display is intermittent” “Cheers for that…….” :rolls:
So I repositioned the cables and the display was fine. Now the temperature control seems to be failing as well. Is it the control module behind the fascia or the power board that controls the temperature? I already think the control module is faulty, but as it is so expensive, I just need to clarify if I am going to need the power unit as well. If so, it isn’t viable IMO.

    Any help appreciated on this,

    Thanks,

    Steve.

    hi,

you may not need a new board.

take the board out and examine the sloder joints closely under a magnifying glass.

the heat often causes “dry joints” and may have to re solder where they have gone dry.

a hint where to look, if it resondst to moving the wire coneector to the board, its most likely the block connector tracks, try running over them with some solder.

    hoep that helps
