    hello guys,
    try and avoid repairs on side by sides but good customer of mine has a problem with this one
    mod: s20b rss31-a/g
    service number 8586 151 15010
    serial:11 0241 008501
    the ice maker is not working and the whole temperature display is flashing on and off constantly it will dispence water but not ice they went together so i supect they are conected.
    i have examined both the board behind the dispencer and the rear power module and cannot see any obvious problems
    i suspect the module behind the display is the problem but have not had this problem before all conections are tight and you can atually hear the relay turning the display on and off
    has anyone had this problem if so what were your findings and where is the best place to order this module qualtex, connect?? this site

    i would check the evap motor is working correcty, and evaporator isnt blocked with ice ( ie not defrosting properly ) before changing boards…
    by the date code of the serial number, you would need to replace front and back board if this does turn out to be the issue , due to compatability issues , but def worth checking the other first

    edit .. also worth checking the condensor isnt choked and the condensor fan is working

    sorry youve lost me ??
    the fridge and freezer are working perfectly and water dispencer works just the display flashing and ice maker not working?
    did you understand that?
    cheers i just didnt understand how the evaporator being choked would make the display flash and stop the ice maker working, if you try to dispence ice the bulb for the dispencer also flashes

    You asked for advice, which i offered from my experience to check before paying a lot out for parts not neccesarily needed .
    i wont bother next time
