Can anybody help ? I’ve been to one of these today & fitted a new start cap on the circ motor. After doing what I thought was a reset I’ve ended up with the two leds on the left on together & the far right one flashing. The machine now runs constantly. Have I accidently put it in some kind if test prog ? If so how the heck do I reset it – I’ve already tried holding the prog button down, but all that does is bleeps once & goes back to two on & one flashing again. Help !

    Wizard,

Just so you know that we are paying attention, I don’t have the codes to hand but I do have them in work (as will others I suspect) so if no-one answers this before then I’ll tell you in the AM.

There was a thread on the public forums that I think Shane answered that gave the reset procedure for most of them. IIRC, it’s power off the appliance from mains and press and hold the program button within 3 seconds of reapplying power until it bleeps.

Thanks Ken, I remember seeing that one too & I tried that, but it still comes back on with the two leds on & one flashing. – Almost seems like I’ve initiated some sort of self distruct sequence ! Where’s 007 when you need him ? I’d appretiate some info if you can have a look tomorrow AM though, Thanks again.

    Wizard,

According to Smeg’s fault code list, two lights on the left on all the time and the one on the right flashing means no heat.

I would imagine that when the motor cap failed no water circulation has caused an overheat thermostat to trip.

Thanks for looking that up Dave, much appretiated. I’ll try that, but it only started doing it after I tried to cancel the program initially, machine had only been running for 2 mins. I’ll let you know later what occurs. Ta

Sorted !! safety stat was OC. Shorted that out & still wouldn’t cancel, so removed the outer door & shorted the cycling stat aswell. Machine made a load of beeps, pumped out & reset !!! So all I’ve got to do now is order a new safety stat. Phew!! What a git ! Thanks for your help lads.
