ParticipantNo obvious defects on the 5 terminal motor. And no obvious defects on the Inverter board (impressive heat sink jobbie).
My instincts tell me it is the motor, I have not had much XP with these AEG super silent motors. Do they often go wrong, and is there an easy way to test if the windings are all as they should be?
The customer spent over (gasp!!) £600 on the product and it’s only 14ish months old.

The induction three-phase motor mounted on EWM3000NEW, EWM25… and EWM35… appliances is powered by an “INVERTER” board, which has the function of converting the single-phase voltage to a three-phase
voltage.April 21, 2010 at 7:05 pm #318441bigchrisoioi

Hey, thanks for the advice there Chris. I was not aware of the danger. Luckily I didn’t get a shock.
Not sure how to access the diagnostics on this… Guessing now it is like any other Zannussi type.
No fault code has been shown as far as I am aware, but the motor refuses to turn. I will take another look this week and report any further findings/developments.

The testing procedures on these beasts is rather different from their single phase cousins. If you would like some additional tech info then do please let me have your email details.

srry for the late reply. The diagnostics said it was main PCB to blame, fitted new PCB on control panel and worked fine 😀
