Hi,
I have a W123 that sticks part way through a cycle. It doesn’t always stop in the same place, and advancing the dial manually just causes it to continuously click round.
The only way to clear it is to unplug the power for 20 minutes, advance the dial manually and power up again. However it will then stick further on. The fault happens every time.

Is it sticking during the wash, rinse or spin?
What is it doing when it sticks, can you hear anything like the water filling or draining?

It can stick almost anywhere, but usually during wash or rinse.
There is no particular action, it carries on with whatever it was doing e.g. rotaing drum, or maybe emptying but sometimes it is doing absolutely nothing.
There are no error flashes either.

Worth checking the grey water outlet pipe to make sure the machine is not syphoning during rinses.
If the grey pipe is stuffed right down inside a standpipe or the standpipe has fallen over that could cause this problem.
If the grey pipe does go into a standpipe it should go down no more than five or six inches into the standpipe.
If it is connected to the sink waste pipe then it is less likely.

It is connected to the sink waste pipe, through a proper connection on the trap. There are no kinks or blockages either.

Hmm, it is pointing towards either the small timer unit or a main board fault.
If you have had a look around the forums you will no doubt have realised that Indesit machines and their controls have a very poor reputation for reliability.
If you have access to a megger or multimeter you could test all of the components individually and also check the motor brushes.
I am assuming you have already checked the pump filter etc.

It has finally managed to produce an error code, so hopefully that will point to the problem.
Error code is 7. I’ve searched the forum but it would seem that no one else has had the same code!

Sadly seven flashes indicates a heater relay fault, or in other words the woeful PCB is at fault. 😥

Hi I have exactly the same fault, which developed in the same way. I ticked off all the other checks in your posts.
Is it the timer or the module that I require as a spare part? (heres hoping its the cheaper timer)

Yeah it is but it’s one of those you have to buy the module and then the EEPROM for it as well and, for that lot, you can kiss goodbye to the best part of £100 if not a little more.
I struggle to recommend spending that much on an Indesit, even new. 😉

Seen module for £120 which is almost half what my wife paid for it 8 years ago (probably therefore have had moneys worth out of it).
Also found someone (QER) who will repair module for £43 plus P&P, with 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} success rate claimed.
This seems worth a shot given the price of a new Bosch or ISE.
Any thoughts on PCB repairs welcome.
