    Hi,

    I have an integrated siemens washer dryer top line which is about 5 years old. I have never had any problems with it untill now.

    When i start a cycle (wash,dry,spin) the programme starts and then shuts down after about 2 minutes.

    If it is a wash cycle the machine will fill with water but fail to spin.

    Is there anyway i can find out the source of the problem?

    Hi

    You will need to post up the ENR number along with the FD number which can be found on the inside of the door frame.

    when you say it fails to spin do you mean the drum does not turn at all?

    Hi Chalky,

    Each programme starts wether it is a spin, dry or wash but cuts out after 2 minutes. On a wash it will fill with water but fail to spin.

    Hi, when the machine has stopped filling, listen carefully. Do you hear a relay clicking & no drum action? If you hear the relay operating but no motor action, then more than likely the motor brushes have worn. When the machine cuts out, do you get a series of flashing status LED’s. If so, which LED’s are flashing. This is a fault code & will point you in the right direction to a correct diagnosis. On your model, the carbon brushes come fitted on the rear bearing shield of the motor. The siemens part number is 496876.

    Yeah the machine clicks but then the drum fails to spin. Is it a big job to replace the brushes?

    Not a big job. Motor off, replace rear bearing shield (complete with brushes), click new brushes into place. Refit motor, job done!

    I HAVE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, SAME MODEL NUMBER, WHEN THE MACHINE STOPS YOU CANNOT ADVANCE IT THROUGH THE PROGRAM WITHOUT SWITCHING OFF/ON THEN MANUALLY FORWARDING THROUGH, IT WILL DRAIN AND IT WILL SPIN THOUGH. I CHANGED THE FRONT MOTOR CASE WITH THE BRUSHES IN, LAST NIGHT BUT STILL SAME PROBLEM.
    ANY MORE IDEAS OR TIME FOR NEW.
