Hi Everyone – I have a 4 year old Smeg as above. The fridge section no longer seems to be getting cold enough, although the freezer is okay.
Any thought from out there ?

That’s not the model number I’m afraid.
Check inside the fridge and remove the salad bins, there should be the rating plate in there somewhere with loads of info on it.

The only thing I can see that is easily checked is the adjustable duct at the bottom of the fridge.
There should be a lever there at the lower left corner in the fridge, it adjusts the airflow between there and the freezer, check both sides for obstruction as this unit relies on air flow to keep the fridge at the correct temperatue.
Other than that it’s a case of calling an engineer I’m afraid. If you pop your postcode here, there are quite a few Smeg agents on the site, one of them should be able to assist further.

hi,
there will be another damper that restricts the incoming cold air from the freezer evap into the fridge.
Is the freezer functioning normally ie ice cream is not rock hard or it is remaining frost free or bread is easily defrosted, if these are true then the damper is the probable cause.
The slider Dave refers to controls returning air usually and when the damper does not shut correctly this can ice up, along with your veg freezing.Expect a £50.00 bill for a damper and labour on top of that and use a specalist fridge engineer who has experience with American models

An engineer who covers that area is clive warring on 01132865757 he should be able to sort you out.
as i have previously said,this appliance is in actual fact a maytag or admiral fridge freezer badged for smeg.my previous dianosis still sands to be the defrost heaters.
